Clinton leads Trump 51 to 41 percent in latest US presidential poll

WASHINGTON, Aug 27 (KUNA) -- Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has topped the 50 percent mark among likely US voters, according to a Quinnipiac University National poll released at week's end.
The poll showed her leading Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump by 51 percent to 41 percent.
"We are starting to hear the faint rumblings of a Hillary Clinton landslide as her 10-point lead is further proof that Donald Trump is in a downward spiral as the clock ticks," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the poll.
Ninety percent of those questioned in the poll said they were not going to change their mind on which candidate they would choose between now and the Nov. 8 election.
Other recent poll results showed Clinton ahead, but not by such a wide margin.
Overall poll averages compiled on Friday showed the former secretary of State leading real estate tycoon Trump by between 6 and 8 percentage points.
Ten weeks remain before Election Day, with three debates scheduled, one in late September and two in October.
US voters will soon elect their first woman president, or Trump will pull off the biggest political comeback in modern American history.(end) rm.tg
