Turkish police nab 17 IS suspects

ISTANBUL, Aug 26 (KUNA) -- The Turkish law-enforcers detained on Friday 17 persons for suspected association with the so-called Islamic State (IS or Daesh).
The arrests were made during a security campaign that targeted 20 addresses in Ankara, Anadolu Agency reported, citing security sources.
Meanwhile, 20 suspects were arrested in Konya, central Turkey, and another 20 were nabbed in the Seyhan district of Adana province, southern Turkey.
The police also seized several documents from the suspects, according to the report.
The move comes after the Turkish army and anti-Daesh coalition forces launched a military operation early Wednesday in northern Syria against the terrorist group.
Rocket attacks on the Turkish province of Kilis from Daesh-held territory in Syria have killed at least 21 people while suicide bomb attacks linked to the group have killed hundreds, including 54 at a wedding party in the southern city of Gaziantep on Saturday. (end) ta.gb
