Egypt, France discuss reviving Mideast peace efforts

CAIRO, Aug 24 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Hassan Shoukry discussed with his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault on Wednesday the joint efforts to activate the Palestinian-Israeli peace process.
The two sides mentioned, in a phone conversation, the French initiative and preparations for the international peace conference on reviving the peace process in the Middle East, in addition to discussing several other subjects, French foreign ministry's spokesman said in a press statement.
On situation developments in Syria, the two officials exchanged opinions on ceasefire efforts and the declaration of a "humanitarian truce" in Aleppo, and its impact on the possibilities to resume talks between warring Syrian sides.
They also discussed the situation in Libya and fallouts of the Libyan parliament decision to withdraw confidence from the government of national accord. (end) rg.ma
