Strong earthquake hits Italy with reports of death, destruction

ROME, Aug 24 (KUNA) -- A six magnitude earthquake hit the central region of Italy early Wednesday, leaving a trail of death and destruction.
According to Italian authorities, the towns of Accumoli, Amatrice, Posta, and Arquata del Tronto were heavily affected by the quake.
The number of people killed and injured in the quake is uncertain until this moment; however, the calamity had left several towns in utter ruins. (end) mn.gta
