Turkey will provide all support to liberation of Jarabulus - FM

ISTANBUL, Aug 23 (KUNA) -- Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu underlined Tuesday that Ankara would give full support to an operation to liberate the Syrian border town of Jarabulus from the grip of so-called Islamic State (IS).
His remarks followed reports that troops of the opposition Free Syrian Army (FSA) were preparing an offensive to regain control of Jarabulus, which was opposite the town of Karkamis in Turkey.
IS fired three rockets from Syria earlier today hitting the Turkish southern city of Kilis. No one was hurt.
An operation to liberate Jarabulus is important for Turkey's security, said Cavusoglu, because Ankara did not want Kurdish forces to control Jarabulus following their control of Manbij.
"We don't want Daesh neither in Iraq nor Syria, and we will provide all forms of support to the operation to kick Daesh out of Jarabulus," he said, referring to IS with its Arabic acronym.
Hundreds of the FSA forces are reportedly awaiting at the Turkish side of the borders for an attack to kick the terrorists out of Jarabulus, the last border town occupied by IS. (end) ta.bs
