16 air strikes target IS in Syria, Iraq - coalition

WASHINGTON, Aug 23 (KUNA) -- The US-led Coalition military forces continued to attack the so-called Islamic State (IS) as it conducted 16 air strikes in Syria and Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force announced in its daily report on Tuesday.
In Syria, the strikes hit near the areas of Abu Kamal, Ar Raqqah, Dayr Az Zawr and Manbij, where four strikes struck four IS tactical units and destroyed a fighting position, the report noted.
Meanwhile, in Iraq, the strikes hit near Al Baghdadi, Haditha, Kisik, Qayyarah and Ramadi, it added. (end) rm.nam
