KUWAIT, Aug 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait has a prominent role in global humanitarian assistance around the world, South Sudan's ambassador to Kuwait Barmina Rayak said Monday.
After his meeting with Deputy Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Anwar Al-Hasawi, Rayak expressed his country's appreciation of KRCS' efforts towards those who who are in need.
Rayak pointed to the UN naming His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah a "Humanitarian Leader", adding that KRCS' help has reached many parts of the world to provide life-saving assistance to victims of natural and man-made disasters, regardless of their geographic location, religious beliefs or ethnic origins.
For his part, Al-Hasawi stressed Kuwait's keenness on helping other countries, and playing a key humanitarian role by offering life-saving aid to many vulnerable countries across the globe.(end) akw.haq
