KHARTOUM, Aug 21 (KUNA) -- Sudan and South Sudan agreed on Sunday on holding coordination to back up the process for restoring security and stability in the two neighboring countries.
The concord was expressed during talks, held at the presidential palace, involving the Sudanese First Vice President Bakri Saleh, and his South Sudan counterpart, Taban Deng Gai, who arrived in Khartoum earlier today.
The official Sudanese news agency said the talks between the two sides focused on boosting bilateral relations and mutual cooperation between the two countries in various sectors.
Sudan, along with member states of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), exerts mediation efforts to settle the ongoing conflict in South Sudan; a power struggle pitting the president against his former deputy. (end) hha.rk
