KUWAIT, Aug 4 (KUNA) -- Security challenges require more readiness and vigilance to ensure the safety of the nation, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said on Thursday.
Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled made those remarks while touring the coast guard department, where he inspected the latest equipment used to monitor the movement of Kuwaiti ships.
Moreover, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled said he was impressed by the meticulousness of that department, as he applauded their finesse and their capabilities, in addition to their desire to make persistent progress.
He also commended the coast guards' efforts of serving the nation in such trying times, saying "their efforts are greatly appreciated." Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary of Maritime Border Safety Zhair Jassim offered an explanation on measures taken to protect territorial waters, as well as efforts to deal with security lapses.
He also divulged details on new methods used by the department to monitor the movement of vessels, part of efforts to keep maritime security intact. (end) asa.nam
