12 more air strikes target IS in Syria, Iraq

WASHINGTON, Aug 3 (KUNA) -- The US-led coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS) launched 12 air strikes in Syria and Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in its daily report Wednesday.
In Syria, five strikes near Ar Raqqah and Manbij struck one of the headquarters for the group, as well as four IS tactical units and five IS fighting positions, the report said.
In Iraq, seven strikes near Kisik, Mosul, Qayyarah, Ramadi, Rawah, and Tal Afar struck four IS tactical units, 13 IS vehicles, a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED), a fuel tanker, and a headquarters for the group, the report said. (end) ys.nfm
