Turkish court orders release of imprisoned military men

ISTANBUL, July 30 (KUNA) -- Istanbul's Magistrate Criminal Court ordered on Saturday release of 758 army soldiers and military cadets, out of 989 military personnel who had been placed behind iron bars during recent nationwide disturbances, triggered with a futile bid to bring down the government.
State-run Anadolu news agency said the tribunal ordered their release, based on reports filed by the crime and terrorism bureau, affiliated with the city prosecution that found no proofs to incriminate these detainees.
Up to 231 military personnel, accused of involvement in the July 15 failed coup de 'tat, remained in the prisons. (end) ta.rk
