Iraqi warplanes kill 13 IS prominent leaders

BAGHDAD, July 29 (KUNA) -- At least 13 prominent leaders of the so-called Islamic State have been killed by Iraq's aircraft, said the joint operations command on Friday.
Among the killed is deputy of Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, the leader of IS, it added.
The aircraft carried out today an airstrike on a gathering of the IS in Al-Qa'em town, which is located nearly 400 km northwest of Baghdad near the Syrian border, the commanded noted in a statement.
It said that the airstrike also led to the destruction of two booby-trapped cars and a laboratory for manufacturing bombs, pointing to massive explosions that took place in the site which mean that quantities of ammunition and explosive belts were destroyed. (end) ahh.hm
