22 strikes in Syria, 9 in Iraq target IS -- coalition

WASHINGTON, July 29 (KUNA) -- Coalition military forces continued to attack the so-called Islamic State (IS), conducting 22 strikes in Syria and nine in Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force said on Friday.
In Syria near Manbij, 19 strikes struck 19 separate tactical units and destroyed 17 fighting positions, a heavy machine gun and two vehicles, the force said in a statement. The strikes also hit near Al Shadaddi and Mar'a.
In Iraq, the strikes hit near Habbaniyah, Haditha, Hit, Qayyarah and Mosul, where two strikes struck two separate tactical units and destroyed six assembly areas, six weapons caches, four vehicles, three IS-used roads and two IS command-and-control nodes, the statement said. (end) rm.rk
