Third arrest reported after attack on French church near Rouen

PARIS, July 29 (KUNA) -- A third arrest by anti-terrorist police was reported here Friday in the wake of last Tuesday's attack, claimed by so-called Islamic State (IS), against a church in north-eastern France, near Rouen in Normandy.
French media said that the arrest took place in central France and a Syrian refugee who was seeking asylum here had been detained for questioning.
"France Info" radio said that police were holding the Syrian national because he had obvious contact with the two terrorists shot dead during the church attack after they had killed the local priest in Saint Etienne de Rouvray and wounded another person.
The terrorists killed were Adel Kermish and Abdel Malek Nabil Petitjean, both were aged 19 and had unsuccessfully tried to go to fight in the Syrian conflict.
The latest detainee was not identified but a copy of his passport was found in searches of the dead terrorists' houses. Two other people with links to the perpetrators were also in detention and helping police with their enquiries. (end) jk.gta
