KUWAIT, July 25 (KUNA) -- The solution for the pending sports suspension is "inevitably coming," Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah said, stressing that the Government has exerted all efforts and contacted all bodies, including that of the United Nations. "Government support should be met with reliability," the Minister told the press on Monday after a tour he took around couple of sports clubs, with the company of Director General of the Public Authority for Sports (PAS) Sheikh Ahmad Al-Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud emphasized the importance of following regulations, holding irresponsible people accountable for their actions and respecting every personnel working in sports.
The suspension was unjustly imposed, the Minister said; nonetheless, this suspension will be lifted once international sports federations are respected and sports, in all of its fields, is progressed.
On his part, PAS chief said that a maintenance contract was signed with a new company that will oversee sports clubs in the country and revamp any "shortcomings" of pervious maintenance companies.
He called on increasing sports events and activities and encouraging young people to get involved in athleticism. (end) fn.nfm
