Britain takes action against racism

LONDON, July 24 (KUNA) -- The UK Home Department on Sunday announced a plan to enforce a chain of tough legal and security precautions against soaring racist attacks.
The department said in a report broadcast by the local media that the general prosecution had given instructions the relevant authorities to toughen legal action against elements convicted of racist attacks.
Up to 2.4 million sterling pounds have been earmarked to finance special security precautions, to be enforced around mosques, churches and other worship places.
According to an official report, there were more than 6,000 racial attacks in middle of the past June and middle of this month. On June 25th, two days after the "Brexit" vote, up to 289 cases were registered in various British regions. (end) mrn.rk
