Saudi denies Iraqi allegations in financing the terrorism

NEW YORK, July 15 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia regretted and categorically denied the implicit allegations made by Iraq regarding Saudi Arabia's involvement in financing the so-called Islamic State (IS) activities in Iraq.
Saudi Arabia denied in a statement this evening, the implications made by the Iraqi Representative to the UN Ambassador Mohamad Al-Hakim before the Security Council.
Saudi Arabia takes every measure possible to prevent and suppress the financing of terrorism, terrorist organizations and individual terrorists, the statement released by the Saudi mission noted.
"We are committed to the peace and security of our brothers and sisters in our neighbors, Iraq," it added.
The statement reaffirmed Saudi's continuous support to effort to ensure that the Iraqi people, with no distinction to ethnicity, religion or sect, receive the aid and relief they require in times of crisis. Therefore, the Gulf country said that for this reason it will continue to send aid, including over USD 500 million to UN agencies in Iraq.
"We will continue our unequivocal support, strong neighborly relations and friendship with Iraq and the Iraqi people to ensure their peace and security," the statement added. (end) mao.ibi
