Turkish airstrikes destroy PKK bases in northern Iraq

ISTANBUL, July 1 (KUNA) -- Airstrikes were carried out against bases belonging to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in northern Iraq, said a statement by the Turkish military Friday.
The operation resulted in the destruction of PKK ammunition depots there, said Turkish military.
Other airstrikes using drones were carried out in the southern region of Diyarbaker, resulting in a similar outcome, the statement affirmed. (end) ta.gta
