Active shooting at US military base

WASHINGTON, June 30 (KUNA) -- Andrews Air Base said on Thursday it was currently on lockdown due to a report of an active shooter.
The military base, which houses the president's plane Air Force One, said the incident is ongoing at the Malcolm Grow Medical Facility.
The Air Base added that first responders are on-scene, as it instructed all personnel to keep sheltered for their safety due to the incident reported at 9:00am (local time).
The base was scheduled to conduct an active shooter exercise; however, reports of a real-world active shooter situation were announced, it added.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson, told the Senate judiciary committee at a hearing, that he may need to take a pause due to the "unfolding situation." He however did not provide further details. (end) sd.ajs
