Death toll of Ataturk Airport attack climbs to 42

ISTANBUL, June 30 (KUNA) -- Death toll of Tuesday's triple attack on Ataturk Airport has risen to 42, Ekhlas news agency said on Thursday.
It quoted medical sources as saying a 22-year-old Turkish girl, who was undergoing treatment at hospital, had succumbed to her serious injuries. Her death increased the death toll from 41 to 42.
Some 130 people were also wounded in the daring bombing and gun attack, waged by three suicide bombers, who opened fire randomly at passengers and blew themselves up at three spots of the airport, the third busiest one in Europe.
Turkish authorities suspected that the so-called Islamic State (IS) was behind the deadly attack, one of scores that had been launched in Turkey over the past months.
Authorities revealed that among the deaths were four women with Saudi and Turkish citizenship, two Iraqis, a Tunisian, a Jordanian and one Palestinian. Seven other Palestinians were also wounded in the trio's attack. (end) ta.rk
