BEIRUT, June 29 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) went on handing out Iftar (fast-breaking) meals on Wednesday to Syrian refugees currently hosted by Lebanon, as part of a continued humanitarian campaign during the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement to KUNA, Nabil Hafez, head of KRCS, said 250 meals were distributed today to some Syrian refugee families in Sidon, south of Lebanon.
He stressed that the society will continue to give out Iftar meals to Syrian refugees during Ramadan, and to carry out different projects throughout the year so as to mitigate suffering of refugees across Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Qattan, a member of KRCS, expressed his hope that the humanitarian campaigns would contribute to supporting brother and sister refugees.
The society has launched, at the beginning of Ramadan, a campaign of handing out up to 30,000 Iftar meals and clothes of Eid al-Fitr for Syrian refugee families in Lebanon. (end) wsm.hm
