OIC condemns Istanbul Ataturk airport attack

JEDDAH, June 29 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the attack on Ataturk Airport in Istanbul, which left dozens dead and wounded.
In a statement released on Wednesday, OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani expressed full support for Turkey in such hard times. He also noted OIC will stand with the country through all measures needed to fight terrorism and arrest those involved in the heinous attack.
Meanwhile, Madani called on the international community to boost cooperation in the fight against terrorism, adding that all countries must share vital information to end the activities of terrorist groups.
On Tuesday night, three suicide bombers, suspected of being members of the so-called Islamic State (IS) opened fire in Ataturk Airport before blowing themselves up, killing 36 of different nationalities and injuring 147 others.(end) nh.tma.ag
