23 more airstrikes target IS in Syria, Iraq

WASHINGTON, June 28 (KUNA) -- The US-led coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS) launched 23 air strikes targeting the group in Syria and Iraq Monday, the Combined Joint Task Force -Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in its daily report. In Syria, 12 air strikes hit IS facilities near Ar Raqqah, Dayr Az Zawr, Manbij, and Maraآ’a, the report showed.
Meanwhile in Iraq, 11 air strikes hit IS facilities nearby Bashir, Bayji, Fallujah, Hit, Kisik, Mosul, Qayyarah, and Tal Afar, the report showed. CJTF-OIR maintains that one air strike count "means one or more kinetic events that occur in roughly the same geographic location to produce a single, sometimes cumulative effect for that location."
