OIC denounces Lebanon blasts

JEDDAH, June 28 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Tuesday strongly condemned Monday's "terrorist" attacks in the Lebanese border town of Al-Qaa, which claimed scores of "innocent" lives.
In a statement, OIC Secretary General Iyad Madani denounced "these heinous crimes", as he conveyed his condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims and the people of Lebanon.
Moreover, Madani noted that the OIC stands in solidarity with Lebanon in the fight against all terrorist threats that aim to destabilize the country, as he called on all Lebanese to have their nation's best interest at heart.
A series of day and night suicide blasts targeted the town of Al-Qaa on Monday, killing five people and injuring a dozen others. (end) nh.nam
