Ban Ki-moon congratulates Iraqi PM on retrieving Fallujah

BAGHDAD, June 26 (KUNA) -- UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon congratulated Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al-Abadi Sunday on liberating the city of Fallujah from the so-called Islamic State (IS).
In a phone call with Al-Abadi, Ban stressed UN's support for Iraq and its people in all aspects, praising procedures made by Iraqi government to protect civilians, where he mentioned the important role for the Police in bringing security and peace to areas retrieved from IS, said an Iraqi official statement.
Meanwhile, Al-Abadi said that the government started to get misplaced people back to their homes, but current financial resources are not enough to bring stability to liberate areas due drop of oil prices.
He added that the government is keen on applying human rights and achieving national reconciliation in the country, and is going forward in building the country's institutions.
