BERLIN, June 25 (KUNA) -- An emergency meeting grouping foreign ministers of the EU six founding members will be held in Berlin later on Saturday to discuss repercussions of British people majority vote for exiting the European Union.
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier will host his counterparts from France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg and Holland to examine impact of the British referendum results on the union, namely its foreign policies.
The official statement said the German and French sides would present, at the meeting, proposals to update the union and cope with impact of the British people decision.
The six states signed a treaty in 1957, according to which the European common market was established; as a prelude for creating the EU.
European leaders have been preoccupied with the dramatic Britons' vote to get out of the union; amid concerns about future well-being of the body and economies of the regional nations (end) anj.rk
