ROME, June 14 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti architect and artist Abdullah Al-Awadhi expressed on Tuesday his pride and appreciation for being chosen among a host of international creative architects at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia 2016, in Venice, Italy.
"It was a good surprise for me to select one of my artworks and showcase it at the exhibition," Al-Awadhi told KUNA.
He added that it was an honor to choose the artwork, stressing that this shows the "distinguished" cultural and artistic movement in the State of Kuwait.
Kuwait's participation in the exhibition for the third year in a row, with a host of creative youth of Kuwait, reflects the country's care for creativeness.
As for his artwork of textile which is showcased at the exhibition, he noted that visitors are highly attracted by this art due to its familiarity which helps interact with the creative content.
He lauded the representative of Kuwait's Ambassador to Italy, Mohammad Al-Hajri, and head of Kuwait's Pavilion at the exhibition and National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters' representative Zahraa Ali Baba for attending the event's inauguration. Kuwait's pavilion is showcasing items on the Gulf.
About 88 international architects from 37 countries are taking part in the event titled "Reporting From the Front". It runs until next November. (end) mn.nsa.hm
