30 more airstrikes target IS in Syria, Iraq

WASHINGTON, May 29 (KUNA) -- The US-led coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS) launched 30 airstrikes targeting the group on Saturday, the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in its daily report.
Nine airstrikes in Syria struck targets near Ar Raqqah, Manbij, and Mar'a, the report said.
Meanwhile in Iraq, 21 airstrikes hit targets near Al Baghdadi, Fallujah, Habbaniyah, Hit, Kisik, Mosul, and Qayyarah, the report said.
The US maintained that a single airstrike "means one or more kinetic events that occur in roughly the same geographic location to produce a single, sometimes cumulative effect for that location," according to the daily report. (end) ys.bs
