KUALA LUMPUR, May 29 (KUNA) -- Vendors at popular bazaars in Kuala Lumpur are yelling to sell their goods -- weather clothes, accessories or food -- in a well-organized environment held under local municipality's supervision.
The municipality bans cars from entering one of the streets to allow vendors set up their booths and display tables, making the bazaars suitable for people with limited income because of the low-price goods compared to those offered in regular shops.
These bazaars are appealing to public sector's employees who could use them to produce another income, especially that the sales are tax-free. They can participate in these bazaars as vendors before or after their government working hours.
These weekly bazaars are held in day and night time.
Pasar Tani, one of the day-time bazaars, features farms owners displaying their products ranging from vegetables, eggs, meat and fresh fish.
Pasar Malam - held at night and could extend until dawn - have meals, clothes, shoes, textiles, households, make-up, watches, and perfumes.
These day-and-night bazaars are also frequented by tourists who get a chance to blend with local Indonesian people and know their culture, taste their food and buy traditional clothes, having a first-hand-account of the simplicity of the life in parts of Kuala Lumpur. (end) aab.bs
