CAIRO, May 28 (KUNA) -- The Arab League Council at foreign ministers level reiterated support to the French initiative for peace in the Middle East and all efforts to expand the international participation to resolve the Palestinian cause.
The ministers also stated support to the forthcoming international peace conference, slated for June 3 in Paris, the Council said in its resolution entitled "diplomatic moves regarding the Palestinian cause," in conclusion of its extraordinary meeting on Saturday.
They stressed the importance of establishing a multilateral process with the aim of ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem.
The Council rejected of the so-called "transitional solutions" and "a state with temporary borders", reiterating its disapproval of Israel as a legitimate Jewish state, and rejection of Israel's "apartheid policy," urging the international community to force Israel to commit to the international legitimacy resolutions and the UN Charter and stop violating international laws.
It also reiterated its full support and solidarity with the Palestinian people, noting that achieving a comprehensive and fair peace is by ending the Israeli occupation of all Palestinian and Arab territories, including the Syrian Golan, and enabling the Palestinian people from practicing their full rights, including determining their fate and establishing their independent state.
