Kuwait qualifies for final of Bahrain open ice hockey championship

MANAMA, May 28 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's nat'l team have successfully proceeded to the final game of Bahrain open ice hockey championship after defeating the Bahraini team 5-2 on Saturday.
This is the second win for the Kuwaiti team in the championship which opened yesterday when the Kuwaiti team hammered Qatar's 10-1, said secretary of the Kuwait winter sports club Bashar Al-Nassar.
"Today's victory will encourage the unbeaten Kuwaiti team to face Oman in a routine game of the friendly championship tomorrow with the substitute players as we are sure of reaching the final," he told KUNA.
"The championship gathered the four national teams of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman; its final game will be played on Monday," Al-Nassar added.
Kuwait is the seat of the organizing committee of the Gulf winter sports games chaired by Fheid Al-Ajmy - the chairman of Kuwait winter sports club. Al-Nassar doubles as secretary general of the committee. (end) mga.gb
