TRIPOLI, Lebanon May 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) signed Friday a USD 150,000 agreement to help injured Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
KRCS's Chairman Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer and Deputy Head of the ICRC delegation in Lebanon Marco Succi signed the agreement today.
Speaking to KUNA, Dr. Al-Sayer stressed that the KRCS was interested in helping injured Syrian refugees to receive rehabilitation, adding that this was part of the society's efforts to help relieve some of the pain caused by the ongoing war in Syria.
On his part, Succi said that the KRCS played a major role in providing funds for the rehabilitation program of the injured Syrian refugees.
He thanked Kuwait and its people for this generous offer and hoped that both the KRCS and ICRC would continue to cooperate in the future.
Meanwhile, the KRCS and the Qatari Red Crescent Society collaborated on a project to help to care for premature babies at the Tripoli hospital. (end) mah.gta
