KUWAIT, May 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) launched a campaign on Wednesday to provide food assistance to 500 needy families in Kuwait donated by the Nestle Kuwait General Trading Co.
The donated food aid is carried out by the Nestle Kuwait General Trading Co. for the third consecutive year on the occasion of the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan, a KRCS volunteer, Jaafar Al-Jamali, told KUNA, adding that the recipient families come from different nationalities.
These families seek to receive such food stipends, including rice, flour, lentils, cooking oil, and pasta, with the proviso of not having their names disclosed for personal privacy and discretion, said Al-Jamali.
KRCS volunteers will be distributing the food from Nestle over a two-day period and it is a gesture of good will on the part of the giant food company, said Farah Al-Qamati, director of consumer products at the company.
She praised the cooperation between the company and KRCS in carrying out this humanitarian offering to indigent families in Kuwait. (end) akh.ajs
