AMMAN, May 24 (KUNA) -- The International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) sent on Tuesday its second shipment within a week of relief aid to Syrian refugees in Jordan aboard a Kuwait Airways aircraft.
The aid mainly consisted of 22 tons of basic food staples for Syrian refugee families getting ready to welcome the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan, said IICO chief for relief aid services Mohammad Al-Holi, in a statement to KUNA and state-run Kuwait TV.
The relief aid is to be distributed to the targeted families living in refugee camps and areas close to the borders by IICO personnel office in Amman, he said.
IICO official Nawaf Al-Enizi thanked all Kuwaiti donors whose generosity made up the bulk of the food staples and other necessities in today's shipment to the refugees.
He furthermore thanked the assistance the embassy of Kuwait extended to IICO in the distribution process. (end) mgb.ajs
