KUWAIT, May 24 (KUNA) -- The national assembly turned over to the government for its perusal a draft law the lawmakers endorsed on Tuesday on fighting money-laundering and funding terrorism.
The lawmakers also endorsed a proposal for a law defining the exact number of people eligible to get the Kuwaiti citizenship.
This proposed law allows 4,000 people to obtain the Kuwaiti citizenship this year. It has been turned over to the government for its final perusal.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah thanked the lawmakers after voting on the proposed law was over and hoped that the law will eventually be applied through the remainder of the year. (end) hrz.sss.ajs
