Sheikh Salman: revamped TV studio now on par with int'l standards

KUWAIT, May 23 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Information has revamped one of its key television studios to bring it on par with international standards, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah said on Monday.
In a statement to journalists during the opening of "Studio 800", Sheikh Salman touted the studio as the biggest in the country, having produced a litany of Kuwaiti theatrical works over the years, saying the studio has been renovated to prop up the media sector in the country.
Moreover, Sheikh Salman noted that human growth and development are integral parts of the country's strategy, which the Ministry of Information is hard at work to implement.
Sheikh Salman also added that the development of media in the country is heading in the right direction, saying it is the result of maximal efforts exerted by employees at the Ministry of Information.
Meanwhile, legendary Kuwaiti thespian Hayat Al-Fahad told KUNA the studio has produced some of the most unforgettable works of drama in the history of the Arab world, adding that she is elated it has been restored to optimal condition.
Kuwaiti actor Abdulrahman Al-Aqal made similar remarks to KUNA, as he described the studio as something "all Kuwaitis should be proud of." "Studio 800" produces television productions that run the gamut from programs to shows, interviews and dramas. (end) jk.nam
