His Highness the visiting Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah meets with his Korean counterpart Hwang Kyo-ahn
SEOUL, May 9 (KUNA) -- His Highness the visiting Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah held official talks on Monday with his Korean counterpart Hwang Kyo-ahn.
The cordial talks reflected deep-rooted bilateral relations, especially in economic, trade, investment and educational fields.
Regional and international developments, mainly the situation in the Middle East and Asia, in addition to counterterrorism efforts and issues of common concern, were discussed during the talks.
A number of agreements and memoranda of understanding were also signed, including one on smart cities co-signed by Minister of State for Housing Affairs Yasser Abul and Koran Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kang Ho-in.
Health Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Khalid Al-Sahlawi signed a memorandum of understanding on medical services with Director of Health Service at the Korean Health Industry Development Institute, Lee Yong.
Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) Nizar Al-Adsani signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with Korea Gas and KPC as well as a memorandum of understanding on oil, energy and gas.
Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Bader Al-Essa signed a memorandum of understanding on the educational field with Korean Minister of Education Lee Joon-sik.
After a luncheon in honor of the Kuwaiti delegation, His Highness the Prime Minister said the partnership agreement in the housing domain comes to emphasize the government's keenness to resolve the housing problems.
The agreement includes the establishment of a joint company between the two countries aimed at the establishment of Saad Al-Abdullah city, which includes more than 30,000 housing units.
Saad Al-Abdullah city will be the first smart and environment-friendly city in Kuwait and in line with international standards, which proves the commitment of Kuwait with international climate, which was signed at the United Nations last April.
His Highness the Prime Minister said the Korean-Kuwaiti partnership will be a good example for relations. (Pick up previous)
