GAZA, May 5 (KUNA) -- An old Palestinian woman was killed and several other civilians were injured in an Israeli artillery shelling of the city of Khan Yunis, south of the besieged Gaza Strip.
Palestinian medics told repoters that the 49-year-old woman was killed by Israeli shelling on Thursday evening in the Al-Fakhari area east of Khan Yunis.
They added that two Palestinian youth were also wounded in the attack.
Moreover, Israeli F-16 jetfighters carried out a series of airstrikes against Hamas targets in several parts of the densely-populated strip amid continued escalation after clashes on Tuesday between Palestinian resistance groups and Israeli troops that were trying to enter Gaza Strip. (end)
