UN envoy receives list of Yemeni negotiators tasked with thorny dossiers

KUWAIT, May 4 (KUNA) -- UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed revealed on Wednesday that he received from the Yemeni participating delegations in the peace talks the list of members of the proposed committees to discuss political and security dossiers as well as the issue of prisoners and detainees.
Following a second session of the UN-sponsored direct talks at Bayan Palace on Wednesday evening, he said in a press statement that the parties reviewed the framework put forward for a peaceful settlement to the conflict through addressing the political, security, economic and humanitarian aspects of the crisis.
The heads of the negotiating teams of the Yemeni government, the General People's Congress and Ansarullah movement expressed their gratitude to the international community and the Gulf Cooperation Council for their efforts exerted over the last two days to put the talks back on track, he added.
He noted that he urged all Yemeni parties to exert all possible efforts to facilitate the missions of humanitarian organizations especially in the most affected areas.
He said that they give a top priority to humanitarian situation particularly after stopping hostilities which contributed to enabling these organizations to deliver aid to people there.
He voiced his hope that this move would help alleviate suffering of Yemenis especially after launching the UN Verification and Inspection Mechanism for Yemen (UNVIM.
The United Nations Secretary-General has decided to institute UNVIM for the facilitation of commercial imports to Yemen, at the request of the government of Yemen and in line with Security Council resolution 2216 (2015). (Pick up previous) nma.rkf.hrz.hm
