Kuwait, Bangladesh ink accords to bolster coop.

DHAKA, May 4 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Bangladesh's counterpart Sheikh Hasina Wazed on Wednesday attended the signing ceremony of a host of accords to boost bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The ceremony followed official talks Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak held with Sheikh Hasina at the presidential palace in the capital Dhaka.
The first accord tackles encouragement and mutual protection of investment, and was signed by Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Bader Hamad Al-Essa and the Bangladeshi Minister of Industries Amir Hossain Amu, and Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali.
Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Suleiman Al-Jarallah and Undersecretary of Bangladesh Foreign Ministry Mohammad Mozammel Khan signed an agreement on mutual entry visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and special passports.
Al-Jarallah also signed an accord for military cooperation with Lieutenant General Muhammad Mahfouz El-Rahman, Armed Forces staff officer at the Prime Minister's office.
A fourth agreement was then signed for amending a loan from the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) to Dhaka for financing Paira Bridge (Lebukhali Bridge).
KFAED Director General Abdulwahab Ahmad Al-Bader and Bangladesh's Finance Ministry Undersecretary for Economic Affairs Mahmoude Bijum signed it.
During the talks that preceded the ceremony, the two sides reiterated the necessity of enhancing trade exchange and investment, as part of the deep-rooted bilateral ties.
They also exchanged views on the regional and international issues of common concern, in particular peace and stability in Asia and the Middle East.
Meanwhile, the two countries urged joining international efforts to resolve crises and realize stability worldwide, so that humanity would enjoy a dignified life.
They reaffirmed bilateral cooperation for combating terrorism.
The talks were attended by the official delegation accompanying His Highness the Premier, and from the Bangladeshi side a host of ministers and senior officials.
