Kuwait's KRCS offers aid to 3,000 Syrian families in Jordan
AMMAN, May 1 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) on Sunday concluded a campaign for distributing relief aid on up to 3,000 Syrian refugee families in different parts of Jordan.
The KRCS was keen that the humanitarian aid distributed over three days cover several parts of the Kingdom, including the capital Amman and the governorates of Mafraq and Irbid, KRCS Deputy Chairman Anwar Al-Hasawi told KUNA.
He added that the relief campaigns and the humanitarian launched by the society and partners aim to improve the living conditions of the Syrian refugees and alleviate their sufferings.
Al-Hasawi underlined the significance of donations from by Kuwaiti benefactors for the continuation of the aid since the eruption of the Syrian crisis more than five years ago.
Distribution of the aid is based on surveys conducted by teams from KRCS and the Jordan Red Crescent (JRC) to identify the areas where refugees are found.
Al-Hasawi emphasized the fact that the KRCS's relief efforts are based on directives from the country's political leadership, with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on top.
Interviewed by KUNA, JRC director in Al-Mafraq Ali Al-Shudifat, stressed Kuwait's humanitarian distinguished and leading role, through the country's charity organizations, offering continuous relief aid since the crisis erupted.
A KRCS delegation, led by Chairman Hilal Al-Sayer, in the 1st session of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization (ARCO) that wrapped up its meetings on Thursday. (end) mjb.msa
