GCC anti-corruption cmte convenes in Riyadh

RIYADH, May 1 (KUNA) -- A joint committee of GCC agencies responsible for protecting integrity and fighting corruption held its seventh meeting in Riyadh on Sunday.
During the meeting, the conferees addressed a host of key issues and subjects pertinent to anti-corruption plans in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, primarily guide procedures for implementing two UN and Arab anti-corruption agreements.
They also discussed a feasibility study for creating a Gulf anti-corruption index and necessary executive mechanisms for organizing awareness promotion activities.
The meeting came in line with a resolution adopted by the heads of GCC agencies responsible for protecting integrity and fighting corruption during their third meeting in Riyadh in February 2016. (end) yms.mt
