Saudi Arabia foils imminent "terror act"

RIYADH, April 29 (KUNA) -- Saudi security forces managed on Friday to foil an imminent "terror act" in the south of the Kingdom, said a security source in a statement.
This happened after the forces had followed up closely two cars in the southern region of Asir, added the spokesman for Interior Ministry.
One of the cars was carrying explosives and as soon as drivers of the two vehicles noticed that they were monitored by security forces, they opened fire at them, the spokesman noted.
As a result, security men asked the drivers to surrender themselves, but they refused and continued firing intensively.
Security men immediately responded to the source of fire and killed the drivers, the statement added, noting that no policeman was injured. (end) yms.hm
