Kuwait's KSNMMI takes part in IAEA-sponsored training in Bangkok

KUWAIT, April 29 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (KSNMMI) has participated in a regional training course on using radioactive pharmaceuticals for diagnosis and treatment of cancerous tumors held in Bangkok, Thailand.
The course, sponsored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), was concluded on Friday.
KSNMMI chairman Dr. Fahad Abdulrahman Marafi, who is also a consultant at the Kuwait Cancer Control Center (KCCC), told KUNA by phone that he had taken part in the course as an authorized senior lecturer and consultant of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging.
Marafi added that it was the second time he participated with the IAEA in training Asian doctors.
Kuwait is a leading country in the field of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging, he noted.
Experts from Australia and Belgium took part in the course, in addition to six local ones. (end) shd.msa
