KUWAIT, April 28 (KUNA) -- Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Hilal Al-Sayer affirmed Thursday Kuwait's support of humanitarian causes, in collaboration with international and regional organizations.
Speaking to KUNA after the conclusion of the 41st session of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization (ARCO), Al-Sayer said that KRCS is a key partner of international humanitarian organizations that provide aid to needy nations.
Al-Sayer noted that the session reviewed Arab humanitarian societies' efforts of providing aid to Syria and Yemen, in addition to pinpointing any impediments to the advent of aid to these nations.
Moreover, the KRCS chairman said that the session sought to ensure that Arab nations remain a united front, in preparation for an international summit on humanitarian works slated for May 23 in Istanbul. He also added that the session reviewed humanitarian developments in Arab nations, given the volatile conditions there.
In a statement, Chairman of the Jordanian Red Crescent Society Dr. Mohammad Al-Hadid said that Arab delegations visited the society's premises to review continued cooperation between the society and its Kuwaiti counterpart, highlighted by an agreement KRCS signed with a Jordanian medical facility to provide treatment for Syrian refugees.
Al-Sayer headed KRCS's delegation to the meetings, which included a number of senior KRCS officials. (end) mjb.nam
