US, India discuss climate change, counterterrorism

WASHINGTON, April 28 (KUNA) -- US President Barack Obama's National Security Adviser Susan Rice discussed "deepening bilateral cooperation" in the areas of climate change, counterterrorism, and trade with Indian Foreign Secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar late on Wednesday, the White House said in a statement.
The two officials made "critical follow-on to the Paris Agreement" signed at the UN last week, in addition to exploring opportunities for expanded security and counterterrorism cooperation, the White House revealed.
Their discussion further involved "progress" in civil-nuclear cooperation, as well as US support for India's membership in the multilateral export control regimes, the statement affirmed. (end) ys.hb
