RIYADH, April 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society's (KRCS) Deputy Chairman Anwar Al-Hasawi has described humanitarian action as one of the main pillars of state policy of Kuwait and other Gulf Cooperation Council member states.
The record of Kuwait and GCC states in humanitarian domain is enormous and spreads to the four corners of the globe, Al-Hasawi told KUNA after the conclusion of the 12th meeting of the heads of GCC red crescent societies in Riyadh Thursday evening.
He pointed out that the conferees have agreed on intensifying efforts to improve the living conditions of Syrian refugees as well as to offer all required aid to war-traumatized Yemeni people.
They have also agreed to celebrate GCC Red Crescent Day, to highlight the GCC red crescent societies' initiatives, programs and efforts to ease people's suffering worldwide, he said.
Al-Hasawi underlined the importance of coordination and cooperation between GCC red crescent societies and regional and international humanitarian agencies to upgrade response to regional and global humanitarian crises. (end) yms.ibi
