Mexico, Kuwait discuss cooperation prospects in agricultural domains

KUWAIT, April 20 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to the United Mexican States Samih Johar Hayat has discussed with Minister of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food of Mexico (SAGARPA) Jose Edwardo exchanging visits and expertise between the two countries.
A Kuwait Embassy statement said Wednesday the two men also tackled how both countries can exchange expertise in the fields of fish and livestock and the possibility of holding joint scientific and technical research on fisheries and aquaculture development and to encourage coordination among businesspeople in both countries to explore investment opportunities.
The statement quoted the Kuwaiti ambassador as saying that Mexico possesses huge potential, urging Kuwaiti businesspeople to start dialogue with their Mexican counterparts on how to employ such potential in order to take advantage of the large economic and trade opportunities available.
The Mexican Federal Minister for his part said he would pay an official visit to Kuwait on May 18-19 as the personal envoy of Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, heading a high-level delegation representing various ministries and establishments.
The delegation will look into ways of developing trade and economic relations with their counterparts at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and industry in order to complete the fruitful results and implement the agreements signed between the two countries in various areas during the visit of Mexican President to Kuwait at the end of last January.
