Security operation kills 34 militants SW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, April 9 (KUNA) -- At least 34 militants including a key commander of a banned outfit were killed in a security operation in Pakistanآ’s southwestern Balochistan province, said official on Saturday.
In a press conference in provincial capital Quetta city, Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti said that 34 terrorists including key commander of a banned outfit United Baloch Army (UBA) have been killed in an operation in Johan area of Kalat district.
He further said that the killed terrorists were involved in Mastung incident in which 20 passengers of a bus were killed.
The Provincial Minister claimed that huge cache of arms and ammunition, gold plates, cash and computers were also recovered from them. He also confirmed that one security personnel was martyred and other two others injured in the operation.
Resource rich Balochistan has been facing militantsآ’ insurgency for over a decade and security forces have carried several operations against the militants to maintain law and order in the province. (end) sbk.bs
