GCC-EU joint cmte convenes in Riyadh

RIYADH, April 6 (KUNA) -- The joint GCC-EU cooperation committee held its 27th meeting Wednesday at the GCC General Secretariat headquarters.
In a press statement following the meeting, GCC Assistant Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Aluwaisheg said the meeting discussed a number of key issues related to bilateral relations and cooperation in various domains.
He pointed out that the conferees discussed means to bolster trade and investment exchange, beef up cooperation in clean and renewable energy, e-government, education and scientific research, technical, transport and telecommunications programs and projects.
They also tackled means to combat money laundering and to dry up financial resources of terrorist group and to enhance coordination between the GCC and EU in development, humanitarian and voluntary initiatives, he added. (end) yms.ib
